Information we collect
When you request a quotation or callback, we collect the information entered in the form. This can include your name, telephone number, email address, postcode, project type, preferred callback time and the page from which the enquiry was sent.
Our hosting provider also processes limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as request logs and spam-prevention signals.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss the proposed work.
- To confirm service-area coverage and arrange a property survey.
- To prepare and manage a requested quotation or contract.
- To protect the forms and website from spam, abuse and security threats.
- To meet accounting, legal and regulatory obligations where applicable.
We normally rely on legitimate interests to answer general enquiries, steps taken at your request before entering a contract for quotations and surveys, performance of a contract for accepted work, and legal obligation where records must be retained.
Who receives it
Information is available only to Cheshire Design and suppliers that help us operate the website and communications. Netlify hosts the website and processes form submissions. Our email and business systems may process the details needed to answer and manage your enquiry. Suppliers are required to protect personal information and use it only for the service they provide.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Maps and external websites
Interactive Google Maps are not loaded until you select “Load map”. If you do so, your browser connects to Google and Google may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details under its own privacy terms. Links to Which? Trusted Traders, Google, OpenStreetMap and government websites take you to services operated by those organisations.
How long we keep it
Routine enquiries that do not become customer work are normally retained for no longer than 24 months. Quotations, contracts, invoices and related records may be retained for up to six years after the end of the customer relationship where needed for tax, accounting or legal purposes. Spam and security records may be kept for shorter periods.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your information; restrict or object to its use; and receive information you provided in a portable format. You can contact us using the details above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page if the website, our suppliers or the way we use personal information materially changes.
