The service

Repair the cause, not only the visible mark.

Resin damage can come from several places. Movement in the base may create a crack, poor mixing can leave soft or loose areas, impact can damage an edge, and contamination can affect appearance. Different causes need different responses, even when the surface problem initially looks similar.

We inspect the damaged area and its surroundings before recommending work. Local repair may be sensible when the base is stable and the failure is contained. Wider movement, repeated cracking or extensive breakdown may make resurfacing or replacement better value. The aim is an honest scope, not a repair that only hides the symptom temporarily.

Why it works

Why assess the damage?

The visible finish is only one part of a successful installation.

Diagnosis

Find the cause

We inspect the damage and surrounding base before recommending work, so a visible repair also addresses the underlying issue.

Scope

Choose the right scope

A local repair may suit isolated damage. We explain when wider removal is needed to deal with a failing surface or base.

Expectations

Know what to expect

We discuss colour differences, likely repair boundaries and limitations before you commit, so the expected result is clear.

Clear scope

What your quote includes

The repair scope records what we found, what can be addressed and any limitation that remains outside the proposed work.

  • Inspection of cracks, loose aggregate, soft areas, edges and drainage
  • Assessment of whether visible damage suggests movement below
  • A written local repair, resurfacing or replacement recommendation
  • Colour matching discussion using the closest practical aggregate blend
  • Curing, aftercare and monitoring guidance after repair work

The process

How we approach resin driveway repairs.

The same four stages prevent a repair from being priced before the likely cause is understood.

  1. Step 1

    Inspect the damage

We check the affected surface and surrounding base to establish whether the problem is local or more widespread.

  2. Step 2

    Agree the repair

We explain the suitable options, colour matching limits and likely results before setting out the proposed work in writing.

  3. Step 3

    Prepare and repair

We remove failed material and address the cause, then prepare the affected area and install the agreed resin repair.

  4. Step 4

    Check and hand over

We inspect the repaired area and explain curing times, cleaning and what to monitor as the surface returns to use.

Finish and detail

Repair or replace?

Local repair works best when damage is contained and the surrounding base remains stable. It is less convincing when cracks continue across the driveway, large areas have softened or the original surface is failing in several unrelated places.

We assess the pattern and explain the trade-off between cost, appearance and expected service life before asking you to approve work.

Honest guidance

How much does a resin driveway repair cost?

Repair cost depends on the cause, size, depth and position of the failure. A small damaged edge is different from a long crack caused by movement through the base. Access, colour matching and the amount of unstable material also affect the work.

We price after inspection because a cheap surface fill may be wasted if the base continues to move. The written quotation explains the repair boundary and any limitations, helping you decide whether local work or wider replacement offers better value.

Useful answers

Questions about resin driveway repairs.

Straight answers to the questions we would expect to cover during a survey.

Example of a completed resin surface
Can a cracked resin driveway be repaired?

Some cracks can be repaired, but the cause matters. A contained crack over a stable area has a different outlook from one caused by continuing base movement. The failed material normally needs preparation before compatible resin aggregate is installed. We inspect first and explain whether the repair is likely to remain stable.

Will the repaired area be invisible?

A perfect invisible match cannot be promised. Existing resin changes with age, weather and wear, while aggregate batches vary naturally. Careful blend selection and a sensible repair boundary can reduce contrast, but the repaired area may remain visible. We discuss that honestly before the work is agreed.

Why has my resin surface become loose or soft?

Possible causes include incorrect mixing, moisture during installation, unsuitable materials, contamination or breakdown from use. Loose stone at one edge may have a different cause from a soft patch in the centre. Inspection helps identify the likely failure and whether it is limited or part of a wider problem.

Can you repair a resin driveway installed by another company?

We can assess work installed by another contractor. Repair suitability still depends on the base, resin condition, aggregate match and extent of failure. Original specifications or spare aggregate can be useful if available, but they are not always essential. We will explain what can reasonably be achieved before quoting.

When is replacement better than repair?

Replacement may be better when movement is widespread, the base is failing, large areas are soft or loose, drainage is fundamentally wrong, or previous repairs have repeatedly failed. Several visible patches can also become poor value. We compare the likely result and limitations rather than automatically recommending the largest job.
