A resin bound patio uses the same mixed aggregate and resin system as a driveway, but the design priorities are different. Garden furniture needs an even surface, doors need sensible thresholds, and the patio has to meet lawns, beds, paths and steps without looking like a separate hardstanding area.
We measure those relationships before setting the outline. Existing concrete may be reusable when it is stable and correctly drained, while loose paving, failed slabs or unsuitable bases may need removal. The finished resin is hand laid around the agreed edges to create one continuous surface that is easy to sweep and comfortable to use.

What affects the cost of a resin patio?
Patio pricing depends on the measured area, shape, access and what is already on the ground. Removing old slabs through a narrow side passage takes different labour from laying over a sound, open area of concrete.
Steps, raised edges, drainage channels and detailed curves also affect the work. We do not publish a misleading flat rate for every garden. After measuring, we send a written quotation that separates essential preparation from the chosen finish.

Can resin be laid over existing patio slabs?
Individual paving slabs are rarely a reliable base because joints and movement can reflect through the new surface. Sound concrete may be suitable after inspection and preparation. We check for rocking, cracks, drainage and levels before advising whether an existing surface can stay or needs to be removed.
Will patio furniture mark the resin?
Normal garden furniture is suitable once the patio has fully cured. Wide, clean feet are kinder to any surface than sharp metal points, especially under heavy planters or tables. We provide curing guidance before furniture returns and can discuss concentrated loads during the survey if you have unusually heavy items.
Is a resin patio easy to clean?
Routine care is simple. Sweep away leaves and soil, then wash the surface with water and a suitable mild cleaner when needed. A low pressure wash can help with established dirt. Avoid aggressive pressure at close range because unnecessary force can damage edges and loosen any external surface over time.
Can a resin patio include steps and curves?
Yes, provided each detail has a suitable base and edge. Curves are one of the strengths of a hand laid surface. Steps need careful riser, tread and nosing design, particularly near doors. We measure these areas individually rather than treating them as part of the main square metre rate.
Does water drain through a resin patio?
Resin bound surfacing is permeable when the complete construction below it is also designed to drain. Laying a permeable finish over an impermeable or badly shaped base does not remove water problems. We inspect the existing ground and plan falls, outlets or permeable construction as part of the specification.
